The Nillumbik Reconciliation Group (NRG) is honoured to present our 2025 Annual Report, as delivered by Acting President Jan Mackenzie at our Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, 18th November 2025. This report highlights a transformative year, shaped by the historic passage of Victoria’s first Treaty law and strengthened community partnerships.
Jan’s address begins with a moving Acknowledgement of Country, reflecting on our shared responsibilities and the enduring leadership of Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung Elders. Highlights of this year include collaborations with longstanding partners such as Reconciliation Banyule, Nillumbik Shire Council, Edendale Community Environmental Farm, local schools, and parliamentary representatives. The report celebrates key events, such as the Walk for Truth, Reconciliation Week, NAIDOC Week, and significant ceremonies commemorating First Peoples’ service.
The dedication of our committee, volunteers, and active helpers is sincerely recognised, with thanks extended to those stepping into new roles and those offering continued support. Initiatives like the Gawa Wurundjeri Resource Trail programs, community planting days, expanded cultural workshops, and new partnerships demonstrate NRG’s ongoing commitment to dialogue, inclusion, and truth-telling.
We invite you to read the full report to learn more about our achievements and our continuing vision for reconciliation in Nillumbik.
