About the Workshop

Join Uncle Rob Patton for Workshop 1: Beyond Colonialism – Awareness Raising, the first in the Counter Colonialism Workshop Series.

This interactive session invites participants to unpack the hidden ways colonialism continues to shape our lives, relationships, and institutions. Through lived experience, storytelling, and group reflection, you’ll gain insight into how power operates, challenge colonial narratives, and explore new ways of supporting justice and reconciliation in everyday practice.

As one past participant shared:

“It’s hard to describe how profound this experience was. It wasn’t just a workshop—it was collective healing.”

NRG member Fairlie reflects:

“As a past participant and member of NRG, I found this Workshop to be insightful, reflective and inspiring.”

Why Attend?

This workshop offers a unique opportunity to:

  • Deepen understanding of how colonialism operates interpersonally and systemically.
  • Reflect on your role within these systems.
  • Learn practical skills to shift mindsets and practices.
  • Grow in confidence working alongside First Nations peoples and communities.

You’ll be encouraged to listen deeply, engage respectfully, and leave with tools to support justice and healing in your own context.
