The Nillumbik Reconciliation Group (NRG) is proud to share our 2024 Annual Report, as presented by outgoing President Jan Mackenzie at our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, 20th November 2024. This report reflects on a dynamic and impactful year, beginning in the wake of the 2023 Voice referendum and marked by deepened partnerships and community engagement.

Jan’s report opens with an Acknowledgement of Country, setting the tone for a year focused on fostering understanding, collaboration, and action. Highlights include our work with key partners such as Reconciliation Banyule, Edendale Community Environmental Farm, Nillumbik Shire Council, Yarra Plenty Regional Library, Eltham Bookshop, the Aborigines Advancement League, and local parliamentary representatives.

The report also acknowledges the tireless efforts of our committee and farewells departing members with heartfelt thanks. It recaps key events like Reconciliation Week, NAIDOC Week, and the Talkin’ Treaty event with the First Peoples Assembly of Victoria. New initiatives, such as the Gawa Trail planting day and the website relaunch, demonstrate our commitment to ongoing growth and cultural exchange.

We invite you to explore the full report to learn more about our journey this year and our vision for the future.
